My first year of Interior Architecture at the University of Arkansas features explorative works and my initial deep dive into interior design.
During these two semesters, we focussed on model making, Rhino, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign. This time was also done mostly online due to the state of the pandemic at the time.

PLATONIC SOLIDS
A study of shape and form
As an initial dive point into design, this project kicked off with a study of the human figure and forms. We were instructed to take photos of our friends and family and create contour drawings of them.

PLATONIC SOLIDS
What are they?
Platonic solids are regular polyhedrons, meaning they are made up of congruent faces. The exercise shown here was an attempt at understanding the shape of each face and how they connected to the whole. Then, to explore how materiality changed the experience of the solid.

How can geometry interact with the body?
In this final leg of the project, I designed a head and shoulder piece that appeared to be growing from the wearer's body. Symbolically, I wanted to show how humans and geometry are intertwined. I was limited to the materials within my apartment to create this piece and ended up using a wire armature made from a hanger, painter's tape, chipboard, and paint to complete it.

HABITABLE WALL
Shape, Color, and Function
COLOR
I was limited to the Pantone 2021 Spring and Summer color predictions for this design, and I chose to use the scheme INTOXICATING.
PURPOSE
A convention for famous artists requires each patron to construct their own live/work place out of a single wall. This wall was designed for a mobile artist and offers room for hanging works, desk space, and rest areas.
